Over the last few weeks some of construction club have been completing a Christmas advent calendar 1000 piece jigsaw.

They did very well and have completed it earlier than expected.

Today we went on a rock hunt in our local area. We looked for different natural and man-made rocks and their uses. 

We discussed why uses of types of rocks may have changed over time looking at things like industry, new inventions and cost.

Today we kicked off anti-bullying week with a workshop led by a special guest - Twinkle. 

We looked at the different types of bullying and how we might feel if we were bullied using drama to convey our emotions.

Today we started our new science topic, rocks! We used starburst to show how the rock cycle works by turning sediments into bigger rocks using heat and pressure.

We then identified different rocks using a key. Finally, we studied a single rock and observed its properties.

Today we learnt our numbers from 1 to 10 in French. We sang a song then played bingo to help us learn.

KS2 children have taken part in a world Religion Day today. They have come in clothes that represent their religion or some traditional dress. 

Some children have brought in religious artefacts and told the children in their class about what they mean and why they are used. 

Today we practiced our typing skills by playing typing games.

We had so much fun.

A fun filled event. The children were able to try lots of different activities and compete against each other.

The children put 100% into every activity and their behaviour was excellent.

Class 8 enjoyed their sessions on the ice over the past few weeks.

They listened to the coaches and improved over the 2 weeks.

Today in our fluency session we practiced developing our pace. 

We learnt that reading quickly is not what makes a good reader. 

We learnt that a good reader reads quickly and slowly to emphasise parts of the text. 

This week in French, we practised our classroom, play scripts ready to perform our mini plays next week. We have some very bossy teachers!
