What is Spirituality?

Something everyone can experience regardless of religion, culture or beliefs

Through spirituality at St Bart’s we look at the awe and wonder in the whole world around us, including a love of nature all living things.

We encourage children and adults within school to look beyond themselves at the bigger picture and reflect on those big questions and ‘Wow moments’.

The Power of Music!

We now have the pleasure of Mr Holloway playing as the children lead in and out of collective worship in the hall. It is the first time in many years and the current children have not had live music before in collective worship. It is fantastic to see a teacher sharing their talent, something we have talked about in collective worship, being generous with your talents.'

The Worship Council asked some of the children and staff what they thought and how it made them feel.

Here are the thoughts of some children and staff from years 1 and 2:

Lines in the Sky

The children noticed lots of lines in the sky. They are there most days. Some of the children knew they were planes.

It got the children who were watching wondering.

Where are they going?
What amazing places have they visited?
How do they stay in the air?
Who thought of making an airplane?
What is it like to be a pilot?
Why have they gone on a plane?

Things that amaze and fascinate us and make us go wow do not have to be from nature but can be made by people, like planes.

Rainbow

Another beautiful rainbow over our school on Thursday, it is wonderful the children get to see these amazing things around school.

Sunset

It was amazing to see the sunset when we came out of after school clubs. The children and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Isaac wanted to take a picture to show everyone. It helped us see what a wonderful world we live in, something we had been reflecting on in worship.

Autumn Leaves

What joy children can find in the wonders of nature! The children have spent hours playing in the freshly fallen leaves from our trees. They had a fantastic time and were amazed what fun you can have with leaves. They played together beautifully.
