Year 5

Class 12 took part in a debate today like scientists of the past to argue if the Earth is flat or spherical.

They concluded of course that the Earth is spherical and could provide numerous pieces of evidence for this.

Class 14 have thoroughly enjoyed sports day this morning in the sun! 

Phay'zer was rated 2nd fastest in the whole of year 5!

Class 14 had fun this afternoon. They used their cutting skills to make a strawberry tortilla wrap. 

We discussed afterwards the different fruit, jams or spreads  they could use at home to make a lovely dessert for their family.

Class 14 enjoyed trying the different ways to preserve strawberries. 

They were surprised how nice the tinned ones were although some didn’t like the texture. 

The jam was the favourite followed by tinned then the dried ones. 

Class 14 have enjoyed creating a poster this week all about fair trade and why it is important to the farmers and the communities they live in.

Class 12 have been sampling different ways we can preserve strawberries. 

They tried tinned dried and jam today with jam winning the vote followed by tinned then dried. 

In the final week of Computing Club we brushed up on our Microsoft PowerPoint skills.

Everyone created really appealing presentations and made good use of various animations that are available in PowerPoint.

Class 12 have enjoyed creating their own poster all about fair trade.

We have been learning about fair trade and the impact it has for the farmers during our geography lessons.

At the end of our stay, we shared our thoughts on the residential - lots of positives and everyone was feeling a great sense of achievement!

We had a great final session climbing and completing Jacob’s Ladder.

The session was a brilliant learning experience and everyone achieved!

We really enjoyed our session of archery and the opportunity of learning new skills and developing these skills!

We enjoyed our final evening meal! 

We have loved the opportunity of socialising in the games room and in the lounge area - good game of UNO!
