Year 4 (Class 10) - English - Play Scripts
In Class 10, we have been writing play scripts in English.
In groups, we have planned and written a scene from a book or film, thinking about stage directions and body language, as well as what the characters will say.
We can't wait to perform them tomorrow!

Year 2 (Class 6) - English - The Paper Bag Princess
Class 6 have been reading The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, and we finally read the ending of the story.
It turns out one of the main characters isn’t very nice and the children explained why using a stem sentence for support and explained using ‘because’.

Today in our fluency session we practiced developing our pace.
We learnt that reading quickly is not what makes a good reader.
We learnt that a good reader reads quickly and slowly to emphasise parts of the text.

Today in English we worked together to order the scenes from Macbeth.
We then worked in smaller groups to plan, cast and write scenes from the play.
We then rehearsed our parts ready to perform tomorrow.

In geography and English we have been learning about London Landmarks.
Today we found out that Big Ben’s clock face is 7 metres in diameter, and each number is 60cm long. To understand the size of the clock face we went outside with a trundle wheel.

Children in class 5 really enjoyed their book day workshop.
They were detectives who used their code breaking reading skills to track down 2 double agents.
They were successful in their quest and worked well as a team!
