Class 5 have been looking at the book ‘The paper bag princess’ as part of our English lessons. 

We have been writing sentences to describe using the conjunction ‘and’ to describe the main character Elizabeth.

In Class 9, we have continued our English work on playscripts. 

This week we have worked in groups to write our own scripts, based on Oliver Twist, before performing it to the rest of the class.

Class 5 have been writing sentences to describe a castle using the conjunction ‘and’. 

This week in worship we have written acrostic poems on this half-terms focus generosity. 

We have also debated our key question: do you always have to be generous?

We did an Oracy lesson in English in Class 9 this week.

We worked in groups to answer inference questions about Chapter 3 of Oliver Twist, building on each other's ideas using phrases such as "I agree and would like to add..." and "I understand what you are saying, but..." 

Class 10 were very excited to choose their books from the book shop today.

They all got some fantastic books and they can’t wait to take them home and read them. 

Today, our children were delighted to visit our free book store, where each child had the opportunity to choose two books to take home and enjoy.

The children really enjoyed their first trip to the Book Bus. We went to the upper level and listened to stories.

After that we had time to explore the vehicle and look at the books. We are very proud of our children who walked sensibly to the bus and back.

Class 15 have learnt about iambic pentameter poems this week.

They have performed a poem using William Shakespeare’s rules. 

The children have been learning about the play write and poet William Shakespeare.

They have been looking at his sonnets and have performed a version of a sonnet in his style.
