This week, the children looked at the scientific evidence for the belief in a geocentric solar system and a heliocentric solar system.

The children then acted this out, becoming the scientists and explaining how opinions and evidence changed over time.

Children in class 5 enjoyed their maths lesson today. They were able to identify and match different ways numbers can be represented.

They had lots of fun problem solving together and sharing their ideas.

Here are details of open events held by The Grammar School at Leeds.

Class 13 discussed all the different languages that are spoken by the children in our class. 

Some of the children wrote down a greeting and their name in the language they speak at home.

In Class 10 we have celebrated the European Day of Languages. 

Children shared fascinating stories about the countries they were born in and about their cultures. We speak 10 different languages in Class 10, including Twi, Urdu, Italian and German.

Class 16 have learnt about humanism today and how it compares to other religions. 

We all agreed that it is a code all religions have in common and would be a nice way to live.

We have been looking at all types of legal drugs and how we can stay safe and make good choices around them.

We made posters today to inform other children of the dangers and safety measures you might need to take.

Some very thoughtful and sensible questions were asked.

Class 16 have been practicing graffiti art today, they enjoyed trying different styles and all worked exceptionally hard.

In R.E Class 6 have been learning how to make good choices. 

They discussed what happens if you don’t follow rules then carried out a role play. 

Thinking about how each person may be feeling, what they may say or do next. 

Today we went on a sound hunt around school. We made predictions about the loudest and quietest places in school. 

Then we visited them and measured the volume with data loggers.
