Year 6 - Computing Club - Budgeting

In computing club, we have been using Excel to plan and manage the budget for our end‑of‑year school party.

By creating spreadsheets, we’ve been able to organise our ideas clearly, listing expected costs such as food, decorations, and entertainment while also tracking how much money we have raised. We used formulas to calculate totals and compare our spending against our budget, which helped us make sensible decisions and avoid overspending.

This project has not only made planning the party more efficient, but it has also helped us develop important skills in data organisation, problem-solving, and using Excel in a practical, real-world situation.
