Class 6 have just visited Skipton Castle as part of their history and literacy topics.
When they arrived they met their tour guides and learnt all about the castles history. They went inside and found maker marks on the stone, learnt about murder holes, where the drawbridge would have been and how dark in was in the dungeon. They pretended to be spit boys in the kitchen, turning the spit and making the food before visiting the long drop.
After lunch the children settled down to draw some amazing sketches of the castle with the skills they had learnt in art before coming home.
They had an amazing day and wrote some good recounts on their return.
