Year 5

Last Friday we competed in the semi final of the school sports hall athletics competition. 

The children were fantastic and gave it their all. 

There were some excellent individual performances and they were unlucky not to progress to the final.

Class 13 enjoyed mountain biking this morning. 

The children were determined to get better throughout the session and showed great resilience.

Year 5 are into their second week of Bikeability.  

Class 13 really enjoyed last week and it is class 14 this week.  

Class 15 (Year 5 children) will be taking part in Bikeability next week.  

Class 15 have been learning to sing the Fresh Prince of Belair.

Class 13 have enjoyed investigating why a young boy might have to move and work away from his family in The Gambia region of Africa.

They then came up with their top 5 reasons as a group.

Year 5 and 6 have completed their ocean pollution topic and made their sea creatures from single use plastics. 

We took inspiration from the brilliant sculptor Angela Haseltine Pozzi and our Fabulous trip to The Deep in Hull. I think you can agree they look turtally awsome.

Class 14 have been studying the properties of materials and designed an experiment to investigate what happens to ice when salt is added.

Class 14 have started their amazing sea creature sculptures using plastics that could potentially end up in the oceans killing and hurting sea life.

Celebrating number day in class 13!

Class 13 have loved the workshop with Captain Morgan this morning.

They worked in teams cracking the multi-stage mathematical problems. 

Class 15 enjoyed using their maths skills to program the Bee Bots, whilst practising their knowledge of co-ordinates.

Today we used our oracy skills to actively listen and respond to our partners, when solving a maths investigation about time.
