Image of Nursery - Black History Month, Fruit Tasting & Dancing

This week in nursery, we have learnt so many things.

We have been learning all about Black History Month. We read the story 'Handa's surprise' and looked at all the different fruits she took too her friend. After discussing and looking at all the different fruits we then had a tasting session. We tried bits of all the fruits and said if we liked it or didn’t like it.

We also talked about what was our favourite one! We even made our very own tally chart and looked at which fruit was more popular. Also this week we looked at a very important man called Garret Morgan. The children looked at his picture and learnt that he invented the yellow traffic light. We talked about what each colour light meant and then played the traffic light game.

We also got creative and made some traffic lights using paint and sticking materials.

We did some African dancing to the African drum and even made our own band with all of the instruments. We also celebrated looking at and listening to children’s different greetings and how to say hello in their language.

Thank you to all the parents that helped do the homework to make this happen. What a busy week at nursery.
